Who Is Fran Tarkenton?
Georgia native, Fran Tarkenton, is best known for his days as the
Minnesota Viking’s football team quarterback. Now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Tarkenton made
three Super Bowl appearances and led his team to three division titles. Since his football playing days,
Tarkenton has started 15 businesses, was a founding member of Coca-Cola Enterprises, and served on the board
of directors for Blimpie International and Sterling Software.
In 1996 he launched the Fran Tarkenton Small Business NETwork (FTSBN), later
renamed GoSmallBiz.com, which is designed to help entrepreneurs manage and grow their businesses by providing
access to a comprehensive body of knowledge and tools targeted specifically at micro business. In 2003, he
started Tarkenton Financial, a company focused on financial education and the benefits of fixed annuities and
single premium life products. He is also author of the best selling book, WHAT LOSING TAUGHT ME ABOUT WINNING: The Ultimate Guide for Success in Small and Home-Based
Business.
Today, Fran continues to advise and counsel businesses. He helps identify new
opportunities in fast changing environments and develop innovative channels of distribution. Above all, he
